Continuing education hours or “CE hours” are the hours professionals spend in credential maintenance activities. It is important to note that CE hours are calculated differently depending on the activity and regulatory board and  CE Window recommends you review your governing body’s website for definitions.

CE stands for Continuing Education and CEU stands for Continuing Education Unit. Though may vary by credential, a CEU is a unit of credit equal to 10 hours of participation in an approved course.

Mental health professionals, physicians, nurses, lawyers, engineers, real estate agents, financial advisers and other such professionals are required to participate in continuing education programs for a certain number of hours every year in order to keep their certificates, or new their licenses to practice.  The annual number of continuing education hours required varies by state and profession and/or credentialing body.

Generally speaking, Approved Continuing Education (ACE) providers may award CE hours for credentials which the provider is approved.

Approved CE providers are calculated differently depending on the activity and regulatory board and  CE Window recommends you review your governing body’s website for definitions and the course provider approvals.

To update your CE activity, you must have an existing account:

1.  Log in to your account on the CE Window website

2.  Click on “My Dashboard” on the left corner of website

3.  Choose your License and click on “Document Hours” in blue

4. A dialogue box will pop up for you to being the documentation process

To edit a documented CE certificate:

1.  Log in to your account on the CE Window website

2.  Click on your email address on the top-right corner of website

3.  Scroll down to the “CE Hours Documented” table

4.  Click on the pencil next to edit a specified CE certificate
